You’ve got the idea. Now let’s get your community ringing.
The Project Landline Operator’s Manual is your practical guide to turning a conversation between a few parents into a community-wide movement.
Whether you’re starting with a Year level, a group of friends or your whole school, we’ll walk alongside you as you bring families together and create a new culture of connection.
Start a ringvolution in your community.
Inside, you’ll find practical guidance to help you:
Get your community on board
Start the conversation, build interest and find the people who can help make it happen.
Choose your timing
Create a rollout that works around your school calendar, existing events and community.
Fund your movement
Explore family-funded, community-funded and local sponsorship options.
Get connected
Plan Landie orders and work out the simplest approach for participating families.
Build the buzz
Bring parents together, communicate the bigger “why” and turn conversations into collective action.
Make your launch memorable
From school discos and neighbourhood picnics to calling trees and launch parties, make it feel like something your community is genuinely part of.
Those elements are all reflected in the current manual, including guidance on funding, Parent Night, Landie ordering and community launch ideas.
Project Landline isn’t about every community doing exactly the same thing.
It’s about parents deciding together what they want connection to look like for their kids, and having the tools to actually do something about it.
One conversation can start something.
One community can change what feels normal.
1. Start the conversation
Share the idea with a few parents, your school or P&C/P&F and see who’s ready to join you.
2. Bring your community together
Host a Screen Sanity Parent Night to get families talking, learning and imagining a different way for their kids to connect. The manual positions Parent Night as the foundation for building shared understanding and momentum.
3. Make it yours
Choose what works for your community, which Year levels to involve, how phones will be funded or purchased, your timing and how families will participate.
4. Get connected
Families get their Landie phones, swap numbers and give kids a simple way to call their friends, make plans and stay connected.
5. Start a ringvolution.
Launch it together. Celebrate it. Get kids calling. And show what can happen when a whole community chooses a different way to connect.
There’s no one right way to do Project Landline. The Operator’s Manual gives you the tools, your community brings it to life.
Ready to get your community ringing?
You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need a few people willing to start the conversation.
Download the Operator’s Manual and use it to gather your people, introduce the idea to your school or P&C/P&F, gauge interest and start shaping Project Landline for your community. That matches the manual’s own approach: start with conversations, involve school leadership where useful, and gauge interest before deciding what the rollout should look like.
